Background
Anne Marchand holds a doctorate in social history (Université Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, 2019) with a dissertation on municipal-works arithmetic in Second-Empire Paris. She spent five years as a post-doctoral fellow at the Institut d'histoire du temps présent (CNRS) before leaving academic employment in 2024 to run this small working-paper series independently.
The Study 1889 series
Study 1889 is a small pre-print venue for working papers on the Exposition Universelle of 1889 and its afterlives. Papers are released under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, updated as feedback arrives, and revised into peer-reviewed form for other outlets. The series is not indexed by commercial abstract services; ISSN registration is pending. Citations to specific revisions are welcomed by version tag.
